Glöm oss inte - Never Forget

What does someone's hands reveal about their life? And what secrets can they hide?

In this book, you'll meet 40 people who all survived the Holocaust.

They were born between 1922 and 1945, all over Europe. Now they are our neighbours here in Sweden.

All of them are carrying their own history. Someone escaped hidden on the deck of a Danish fishing boat to safety in Sweden. Another lived in the forest with Russian partisans. One was born in Ravensbrück. One was hidden in a bucket inside a latrine bin to avoid deportation. They survived ghettos, concentration camps and death marches. They were children and teenagers, someone a young adult. Many were separated from their families, whether they came with a Kindertransport to Sweden before the war or were parted by selection in Auschwitz.

Their memories are frightening. They are all completely unique but merge into one single story. About how the unimaginable and unthinkable can still happen, actually happened - and can happen again.

That story must never be forgotten. We need to take over the role as witnesses. We who have met the survivors, who ourselves have set foot in the mud of the camps of horror, sensed the taste of blood and felt our throat constricted by the thick air.

We must keep telling their stories.

We must never forget.
